Is it wise to get the furniture of your house insured?

I want to insure the furniture in my house. Can I get it insured?

Yes, you can insure the furniture in your house as part of the home insurance policy, wherein the standard fire and special perils policy covers the building as well as its contents. As part of the insurance cover, you will have to declare the sum assured of the structure and the contents separately. Make sure you detail out the items that are in your home that you wish to cover to avoid any other ambiguities that may arise later on at the time of making a claim.
