Choosing a country for higher studies is not simply selecting a university. Here’s what students must consider before deciding.
Countries like the US, UK, and Canada are popular, but are expensive. But Germany, Ireland, or the Netherlands offer quality education, post-study work rights and so on.
Think beyond tuition fees. Add potential rent, food, commute, mobile bills, grooming, and internet. Always put a 10–15 per cent buffer for season-related or urgent expenses.
Rupee value may fluctuate during your course. Pay a portion of your fees upfront, make use of forex cards to freeze rates, and minimize frequent conversions.
Expenses like visa renewals, health insurance, study materials, and travel for visa interviews can add up over time. Don’t leave them out of your budget.
A famous country doesn’t always guarantee the best post-study experience. Pick a place that supports your budget, future job goals, and overall well-being.
