It is important to keep the mother's health in mind, be it physical, mental or emotional.
As per the World Health Organisation (WHO), women in developing countries with a percentage of 20 go under mental disorders post, primarily depression after a child's birth.
The mothers of children whose postpartum depression are not treated face developmental delays, emotional distress, and behavioural challenges.
Apart from emotional health, the physical health of mothers, which includes issues like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis or fertility complications, is also ignored.
Mental health care is also important for women. It does not always require a psychiatrist to detect, but trained obstetricians and gynecologists can also help manage maternal mental health issues early.
As children, we should check in on mothers without asking and offer to take over some tasks so they can nap or talk.
One should stop romanticising the struggle as strength and should start investing in health.
