It has been announced that Google Pay cardholders can now link their RuPay credit cards for UPI transactions.
Various banks such as the State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank, and others, have started giving the feature of linking the RuPay credit cards with Google Pay.
By linking credit cards to UPI transactions, one can make payments using QR codes, UPI IDs, and merchant handles at both offline and online platforms.
1. The first step is to go to Google Pay and click on the profile icon, followed by clicking on the “Payment Methods” and selecting “Add RuPay Credit Card.”
After the first step, one needs to choose the issuing bank and enter the card details. This is followed by verifying the card by entering the generated OTP.
Here, one should set the UPI PIN. The RuPay credit cards can now be used for safe and secure UPI transactions.
By linking the RuPay card with GPay, one can make quick transactions via smartphones and banks also offer promotional benefits for UPI-based credit card usage.
Convenience fees ranging from 0.5 per cent to 1 per cent plus GST for credit card bill payments, including RuPay is introduced by Google Pay.
