Bank branches will remain closed on select dates during the remaining days of July 2026 due to regional and scheduled holidays. Since some holidays are state-specific, the dates of branch closures will vary depending on the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar.

So far in July 2026, banks remained closed on July 6 in Aizawl for MHIP Day/Birth Anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and on July 9 in Shillong for Beh Deinkhlam. In addition, bank branches across the country remained closed on July 5 and July 12 on account of Sundays, and on July 11 due to the second Saturday.

Upcoming Regional Bank Holidays In July 2026

The upcoming regional bank holidays in July 2026 will begin on July 16, when banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun and Imphal for Ratha Yatra/Kang (Rathajatra)/Harela. On July 17, bank branches in Shillong will remain closed to observe the Death Anniversary of U Tirot Singh.

Further, banks in Gangtok will remain closed on July 18 for Drukpa Tshe-zi, while bank branches in Agartala will observe a holiday on July 22 on account of Kharchi Puja. Customers are advised to check the applicability of these holidays in their respective states before planning a visit to a bank branch.

Weekend Bank Holidays

As per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday schedule, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, along with all Sundays. These weekly holidays are observed across the country, irrespective of state-specific holidays.

For the remainder of July 2026, banks across the country will remain closed on July 19 due to Sunday, July 25, on account of the fourth Saturday and July 26 due to Sunday.

While bank branches will remain closed on these dates, digital banking services will continue to function as usual. Customers can use UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, ATMs and other online banking services to make transactions, pay bills and use other banking facilities during the holidays. Those requiring branch-based services are advised to plan their visits in advance.
