SBI Issues Customer Advisory Ahead Of Three-Day Bank Strike

The State Bank of India (SBI) has asked customers to plan their banking activities ahead of a three-day strike proposed from September 28 to September 30, 2026.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has proposed the strike during these three days. SBI has advised customers to complete important transactions before the strike and use digital banking services or other available options during this period.

Customers who have work that requires a visit to a bank branch may want to finish it before September 28. SBI has also listed different options that customers can use for cash withdrawals and digital transactions.

SBI Advises Customers To Plan Banking Work

SBI has asked customers to complete important banking transactions before the strike begins. For cash needs, customers can use Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Automated Deposit-cum-Withdrawal Machines (ADWMs). SBI has also asked customers to use Customer Service Points (CSPs) for services available through these outlets.

Customers can also use internet banking, YONO, mobile banking and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for eligible transactions.

Digital Banking Options During Strike

Customers who usually depend on branches for routine transactions can use SBI's digital channels where the required service is available.

UPI can be used for payments and money transfers, while internet and mobile banking can be used for other account-related transactions. YONO also provides access to banking services through a mobile device.

Customers should check their requirements before the strike dates, especially if they need to submit documents, visit a branch, or complete work that cannot be handled online.

Strike Scheduled From September 28 To 30

The proposed strike will cover September 28, September 29, and September 30. SBI has indicated that it is making efforts to provide essential banking services during the period.

The advisory does not state that every SBI banking service will be unavailable during the strike. Customers can use ATMs, ADWMs, CSPs, and digital banking channels for services available through these options.

Those planning to withdraw cash or complete important branch-related work can therefore make arrangements before September 28 to avoid last-minute problems.
