Adani Total Gas, Gujarat Gas And Other Gas Stocks Rally Up To 18% On Supply Shortage Concerns

Adani Total Gas, Gujarat Gas Share Price: Shares of gas distribution companies surged by as much as 18.6 per cent on March 11 on concerns over a supply crunch amid the ongoing war in Iran.

The conflict has disrupted energy supplies from West Asia, a region that plays a crucial role in the global oil and gas trade. Shipping companies are already reassessing routes through the region, while some energy producers have slowed or stopped operations due to rising security risks.

India, which relies heavily on imports to meet its demand for cooking gas and natural gas, has already started feeling the pinch.

According to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC), India imports around 60–65 per cent of its total LPG consumption. Of these, about 91–93 per cent of LPG imports come from West Asian suppliers such as UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
