Shares of Behari Lal Engineering made their debut on the NSE and the BSE on August 19, 2026, with strong gains. On the NSE, the stock listed at an estimated Rs 465 per share, up 63.15 per cent from the upper end of the issue price band of Rs 285 apiece. On the BSE, the stock listed at Rs 458 apiece up by 60.70 per cent.

Behari Lal Engineering IPO: Listing Day Gain

Applicants who were successfully allotted a minimum of one lot or 52 shares would have made a profit of around Rs 9,360 [(Rs 465 - Rs 285) x 52] after the stock listed on the exchanges. The company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately Rs 1,937.45 crore upon its debut. Additionally 1.2 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the exchanges.

Behari Lal Engineering IPO: Offer Size

The initial public offering (IPO) was a book-built issue worth Rs 301.62 crore and consisted of a fresh issue of 3.3 million shares aggregating to Rs 93 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 7.3 million shares amounting to Rs 208.62 crore. The price band was fixed at Rs 271-285 per share. The minimum lot size for retail investors was fixed at 52 shares, aggregating to an investment of Rs 14,820.

Behari Lal Engineering IPO: Subscription

The IPO saw overwhelming demand and was oversubscribed 108.44 times during its subscription period from August 12 to 14. Investors across all categories placed 803.8 million bids for the net offer size of 7.41 million shares, available after anchor allocations.

The non-institutional investors (NII) quota led the charge, booking their quota 165.32 times. The qualified institutional buyers (QIB) category was subscribed 165.33 times, while the retail investor category was subscribed 53.27 times.

Behari Lal Engineering: Promoters

The promoters of the integrated iron and steel manufacturing company, Parkash Chand Garg, Rajesh Garg, Dinesh Garg, Lovlish Garg, and Bhuvnesh Garg, diluted a portion of their stakes through the OFS. Following the listing of the stock, the overall promoter shareholding was reduced from 88.51 per cent to 70.84 per cent.

Behari Lal Engineering: Listed Peers

Following its successful market debut, shares of Behari Lal Engineering will trade alongside its peers in the Indian iron and steel products sector. The company operates within the customised engineering solutions and precision-engineered components, Behari Lal Engineering’s performance and valuation will be closely tracked and compared against other recently listed peers such as Rajputana Stainless, VMS TMT, Anubhav Plast, and Kasturi Metal Composite.

Behari Lal Engineering IPO: Objective

The company will use the net proceeds from the fresh issue to finance capital expenditure for the purchase and installation of new equipment and machinery along with civil work at its manufacturing facilities. Funds will also be deployed for the installation of new roof-top solar panels at both manufacturing units, repayment or pre-payment of certain borrowings, and for general corporate purposes.

At the time of writing, shares of Behari Lal Engineering were trading at Rs 479.20 apiece on the NSE up by 3.05 per cent compared to the listing price. On the BSE, the stock traded at Rs 472.45 apiece up by 3.1 per cent compared to the listing price.
