Hyundai Motor India Dips Over 2 Per Cent As Auto Company Debuts In Nifty Next 50, Nifty 100, and Nifty 500

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on March 28, announced that the auto company’s shares have been included in Nifty Next 50, Nifty 100, Nifty 500 and other key capital market indices. Hyundai Motor India debuted in the Indian stock market after it was listed on October 22, 2024.

Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) IPO entered the Indian stock market with an offer for sale (OFS) of 14.22 crore shares, with a price band of Rs 1,865 to Rs 1,960 per share, with the final issue price fixed at the upper end of Rs 1,960. HMIL shares were listed at Rs 1,934 on the NSE and Rs 1,931 on the BSE, slightly lower than the issue price.

"As a listed entity, we are elated to cross yet another important milestone. By becoming a part of prestigious Indian capital market indices such as the Nifty Next 50 and BSE 500, we have fortified HMIL's standing in the Indian stock exchanges, reinforcing its market presence and credibility," HMIL Managing Director Unsoo Kim said in an official statement.

Hyundai Motor India's share price closed in the red, down 2.97 per cent at Rs 1,705.90, on March 28, on NSE. The company enjoys a market capitalisation of Rs 1,38,611.39. HMIL's share price had hit a high of Rs 1,970 on October 22, 2024.

"As India grows, HMIL will continue to grow intrinsically with it, along with a constant focus on driving innovation, improving operational efficiencies, and making strategic investments that will strengthen our business outlook and contribute to the growth of the Indian economy," he added. 

In the recent Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) reshuffle, which happened on February 28, 2025, HMIL was the only large-cap from India to be added to the MSCI Global Standard Index.

Also, HMIL added to various other indices of the BSE including BSE 500, BSE All Cap, BSE Large Cap and BSE Large Midcap, among others, on March 24.

Meanwhile, last year HMIL recorded the highest-ever annual domestic sales of 6,05,433 vehicles, for the third consecutive year.
