Molbio Diagnostics’ initial public offering (IPO) received a bumper response from investors across all categories, with the issue subscribed 70.27 times by the close of bidding. The allotment is expected to be finalised by the end of August 13. Applicants can check their share allocation through National Stock Exchange (NSE), BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange), and the registrar.
The Rs 939.70-crore IPO was open for subscription from August 10 till August 12. The issue had a price band of Rs 768-807 per share, with a lot size of 18 shares. At the upper end of the price band, retail investors had to invest Rs 14,526 for one lot.
The IPO comprised a fresh issue of 2.48 million shares aggregating to Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale of 9.17 million shares worth up to Rs 739.70 crore.
The issue received bids for 573.27 million shares against 8.16 million shares on offer, translating into an overall subscription of 70.27 times.
The qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) portion was subscribed 186.39 times, while the non-institutional investor (NII) category was subscribed 49.80 times. The retail investor portion received bids for 12.97 times the shares reserved for the category. The employee portion was subscribed 13.28 times.
Molbio Diagnostics shares are scheduled to list on the NSE and BSE on August 17.
Molbio Diagnostics IPO shares are commanding a grey market premium (GMP) of Rs 154, according to the latest available market indications as on August 13.
At the upper price band of Rs 807, the GMP indicates an estimated listing price of around Rs 961. This translates into a potential listing gain of around 19.08 per cent over the issue price.
However, GMPs are unofficial indicator and does not guarantee the listing price of the shares.
Molbio Diagnostic’s shares allotted to successful applicants are likely to be credited to their demat accounts on August 14, while refunds for unsuccessful applicants are also expected to begin on the same day. The company plans to use the fresh issue proceeds mainly for capital expenditure. It plans to allocate around Rs 125.12 crore to set up infrastructure for a research and development facility, Centre of Excellence and connected office space. Another Rs 80.81 crore the company has allocated for purchasing plant, machinery and other equipment for its Goa and Visakhapatnam units.
