The subscription window of MV Electrosystems' initial public offering (IPO) closed on August 3. The railway electrical and power electronics equipment manufacturer saw strong investor interest during its bidding period. Following the closing of the bidding window, the share allotment status for the MV Electrosystems IPO is scheduled to be finalised today on August 4.
MV Electrosystems’ public issue consists entirely of a fresh issue of 6.82 million shares, and the company seeks to raise Rs 290 crore through the public issue. The company is engaged in the design, development, and manufacturing of electrical and power electronics equipment used in railway rolling stock.
The equipment maker's public issue was subscribed 188.85 times as investors applied for 753.05 million shares compared to the 3.98 million shares offered for subscription. Notably 3.07 million shares from the total offer size of 6.82 million were allotted to anchor investors.
In the three-day bidding window, retail investors booked their quota 205.42 times, and non-institutional investors (NIIs) booked their quota 374.58 times. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) booked their quota 90.47 times.
Ahead of the share allotment, MV Electrosystems shares were trading with a grey market premium (GMP) hovering around Rs 100 per share, according to websites which monitor the demand for unlisted shares. Based on the grey market trends, shares of MV Electrosystems are expected to list at approximately Rs 525 per share this week, offering a premium of roughly 23.53 per cent over the upper end of the price band.

MV Electrosystems IPO is a book-built issue worth Rs 290 crore. The price band for the issue was fixed between Rs 400 and Rs 425 per share. Retail investors were required to bid for a minimum lot size of 34 shares, requiring a minimum investment of Rs 14,450.
The basis of allotment for the MV Electrosystems IPO is scheduled to be finalised on August 4. The initiation of refunds and the credit of shares to successful investors' demat accounts will take place on August 5. The shares are set to make their stock market debut on both the NSE and BSE on August 6.
