The coming week, starting September 7, is set to be one of the busiest periods for India's primary market this year, with 11 mainboard IPOs scheduled to open for subscription. Four small and medium enterprise (SME) issues will also hit the market, while three mainboard companies and six SME firms are set to make their stock market debuts.
Indian markets started the year on a weak note as geopolitical tensions hurt investor sentiment and led several companies to delay their initial public offer (IPO) plans. To give issuers more time, market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) allowed IPO approvals set to expire between April 1 and September 30, 2026, to remain valid until September 30. This meant companies could launch their IPOs without seeking fresh regulatory approval. With the deadline now approaching, issuers and investment bankers are rushing to launch their public issues, leading to an unusually crowded IPO calendar this week.
