Blending Stability With Growth: A Large- And Mid-Cap Fund To Consider

An analysis of Invesco India Large & Mid Cap Fund and ICICI Pru Balanced Advantage Fund

Market cycles rarely favour one segment forever. In such a scenario, a large-and-mid-cap strategy allows investors to participate in both the stability of established businesses and the growth potential of emerging leaders.

Large caps bring scale and greater resilience, while mid caps offer exposure to businesses that could grow faster. For investors with a long-term horizon, this combination can provide diversification across different stages of growth without taking a concentrated bet on either segment. If you want both stability of large caps and growth of mid caps, Invesco India Large & Mid Cap could be a decent choice in this space.

Portfolio

The fund follows a mix of growth and value investing strategy, giving the fund manager flexibility to look for opportunities across market segments. The fund manager scouts growth potential, while also looking at businesses whose share prices may be lower than their fundamentals. This combination allows the fund to participate in promising growth stories without relying entirely on expensive stocks.

The fund prefers a bottom-up approach to stock selection, where the quality of individual business, earning potential, competitive strength and valuation matter more than the sector outlook.
