The threat was reported to the police, following which the bomb squad and local law enforcement arrived at the site and conducted a thorough search. No suspicious objects were found, and the threat was declared a hoax.

The email was sent from an account bearing the name “Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan.” A case has been registered against an unknown individual at the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg Police Station under sections 351(1)(b), 353(2), 351(3), and 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is currently underway to identify the sender and determine the motive behind the threat.

BSE share price, as of 11:40 AM, traded in the green, unhindered from the threat, at 2,468.30 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Though no explosives were found this time, the threat raised concern due to the BSE’s past experience with a major bombing. On March 12, 1993, a car bomb exploded in the basement of the BSE building, causing major damage to the 28-storey structure and nearby offices. The incident resulted in the deaths of 50 people and was part of a series of coordinated bombings across Mumbai.

Third Threat In Two Days

This is the third such email threat reported in the past two days. Earlier today, St Thomas School in Delhi's Dwarka area and St Stephen’s College at Delhi University also received bomb threats via email.

Both institutions were evacuated as a precaution, and searches were conducted. However, Delhi Police later confirmed that nothing suspicious was found at either location.

On July 14, similar threats were received at CRPF Public School in Dwarka Sector 16 and the Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri. Those buildings were also searched, but no explosives were discovered.
