From Tax Reforms To Travel Concessions, Kejriwal Makes 7 Demands For Middle Class In New AAP Manifesto

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a manifesto emphasizing middle-class welfare ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly election. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal presented a seven-point charter of demands for the upcoming Union Budget, including increased education spending, travel discounts, tax reforms, subsidies and scholarships etc.

A post on “X” was released this afternoon related to the same, where Arvind Kejriwal is seen speaking about the hardships that the middle class goes through and how it is being exploited by the government as per him. He called today’s middle class “the real superpower” of the country which is right now being used as the ATM of the government and they have to pay various taxes.

Key Aims in AAP Manifesto

The manifesto includes several major demands for the upcoming Union Budget, such as:

• A 10 per cent increase in health funding

• Introduction of private school fee caps

• Scholarships and subsidies for higher education

• Senior citizen benefits including retirement programs and free medical care

• Tax reforms, including the removal of GST on select commodities

• A 50 per cent discount on train travel for senior citizen.

These proposals aim to address key challenges faced by the middle class, particularly in areas like education, healthcare, and senior citizen welfare.

Financial Relief For Middle Class

"These demands aim to ease the financial burden on the middle class and address long-standing issues in education, health, and senior citizen welfare," stated Arvind Kejriwal, highlighting the need for policies that prioritise ordinary residents.

The election is set to take place on February 5, with the counting of votes on February 8. The ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress are in a three-way contest.
