With Mother’s Day approaching, a Delhi-based CEO has introduced a thoughtful initiative encouraging employees to spend more time with their parents and families through paid leave and travel support.

In an Instagram video shared online, Rajat Grover, founder and chief executive of public relations firm Elite Marque, spoke about how people often get caught up in busy personal and professional lives and forget to spend meaningful time with their loved ones. “Sometimes we do not ask them. We are in our own busy lifestyle,” he said, while encouraging employees to talk to their parents and understand what they truly want.

As part of the initiative, Grover announced that employees at the company would receive a reimbursement of Rs 10,000 to take their parents on a three-day holiday. He also clarified that the leave would be separate from regular paid time off, meaning employees would not have to use their existing leave balance for the trip.

Announcing the decision, he said, “Book the tickets, pack the bags for three days. It will be paid leave from the company.” He described the initiative as a small step from the company’s side to encourage employees to spend quality time with their families.

The caption shared with the video carried an emotional message: “We keep saying ‘one day’ to the people who spent their whole lives saying ‘yes’ to us.”

It further read, Our parents gave us their time, dreams, energy, and years, without ever asking for anything back. Maybe it’s time we asked them one question: “What’s something you always wanted to do?”

Grover also reflected on the uncertainty of life and the importance of valuing time with loved ones. “We don’t know how much time we have with them. Tomorrow is not promised,” he said. He added, “We are never aware of what’s coming next. But sometimes we have to take care of our people around.”
