The 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme has started. Farmers across India have been asked to check their beneficiary status and ensure that the process is complete in order to receive their instalments on time.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is a central government scheme that started in 2019 with the aim to provide financial support to all qualified landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, farmers receive a total of Rs 6,000 per year that is disbursed in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months.

PM-Kisan 21st Instalment Updates

The 21st instalment has been released in four states so far. Farmers in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand received over Rs 540 crore on September 26, 2025, benefiting more than 2.70 million farmers, which includes 270,000 women farmers. On October 7, 2025, farmers in Jammu & Kashmir received Rs 171 crore, transferred to the accounts of 855,000 farmers, which includes around 85,000 women farmers.

According to media reports, farmers in other states may also receive the 21st instalment before Diwali 2025, if they have completed their e-KYC (know your customer) and Aadhaar-bank link modalities.

How to Check PM-Kisan Beneficiary Status

Beneficiary status indicates a farmer’s eligibility and the instalments received under PM-Kisan. It can be checked on the PM-Kisan website through Farmers Corner by selecting the ‘Know Your Status’ on the portal. They can also view the instalment and other beneficiary information by searching their Aadhaar number or registered mobile number, entering the appropriate information, and verifying with the OTP received on their mobile.

Only farmers who have completed the e-KYC process and Aadhaar-bank linking will receive the instalment.

How to Complete PM-Kisan e-KYC

Farmers can complete their e-KYC from home by visiting the official PM-Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in. They need to go to the 'Farmers Corner', select e-KYC, enter their Aadhaar number, provide an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, enter the received OTP, and fill out the form. E-KYC can also be accomplished with biometric authentication through the PM-Kisan mobile app.

Additionally, farmers can complete offline e-KYC by visiting a common service centre (CSC) or a student services hub (SSK) and provide the Aadhaar details for biometric verification.
