Railways approves 30-day bonus for Group C RPF and RPSF personnel.
Bonus calculation capped at Rs 7,000 monthly emoluments.
Employees need six months of continuous service for eligibility.
The Ministry of Railways has approved a 30-day non-productivity-linked bonus (non-PLB) for Group C personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) for the financial year 2025-26.
The payment will be made as an ad-hoc bonus and will cover eligible personnel irrespective of whether they work in uniform or civilian roles. There is no wage eligibility ceiling for receiving the bonus. However, the amount will be worked out using a monthly calculation limit of Rs 7,000.
The bonus will be based on an employee's average monthly emoluments or Rs 7,000, whichever is lower. This means employees earning more than Rs 7,000 per month will also have their bonus calculated using the prescribed limit.
To calculate, the monthly amount will be divided by 30.4, the average number of days in a month. The resulting amount will then be multiplied by 30 to arrive at the bonus.
Employees earning less than Rs 7,000 will have their bonus calculated using their actual average monthly emoluments
To qualify for the payment, personnel must have been in service on March 31, 2026 and completed at least six months of continuous service during the 2025-26 financial year.
Those who have worked for six months or more but less than a year will receive the bonus in proportion to their period of service. The service period will be calculated in months, with any fraction rounded to the nearest month.
The benefit covers Group C RPF and RPSF personnel irrespective of their posting location or whether they work in uniform.
The circular also covers employees who were not in active service for the entire financial year. Personnel who retired, were medically invalidated or died before March 31, 2026 can qualify if they completed at least six months of regular service during the year.
Temporary employees appointed on an ad hoc basis can also receive the payment if they meet the minimum service requirement and have no break in service. For employees on deputation to state governments, Union Territories or public sector undertakings, the borrowing organisation will be responsible for paying the bonus.
Half-pay leave, leave not due and study leave will count towards the service period. Extraordinary leave and dies non, which refers to a period not counted as duty, will be excluded.
Employees under suspension will be assessed based on their reinstatement and payment of emoluments for the suspension period. Part-time employees hired for a fixed nominal payment will not qualify.
