The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has empanelled 207 hospitals across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). This initiative is aimed at making quality health facilities available for a large number of central government employees, pensioners, and their dependents who use the scheme for their primary and specific medical needs. With more empanelled hospitals in the region, healthcare accessibility is likely to improve.
As reported by ANI, the CGHS Headquarters in New Delhi issued two separate Office Memoranda (OM) on June 11, 2026, signed by Additional Director Pushp Lata, according to which CGHS empanelled 190 multi-speciality and 17 super-speciality hospitals.
As per the OM, “The empanelment shall remain valid for a period of three (03) years from the date of issue of this Office Memorandum.”
It further reads, “The Health Care Organisation (HCOs) shall claim NABH/NABL rates only for those investigations/ procedures which are duly NABH/NABL accredited.”
The expansion includes some known medical institutions in the region.
Among the super-speciality category, the empanelled hospitals include Medanta The Medicity in Gurugram, Max Super Speciality Hospital in Vaishali, Yashoda Medicity in Ghaziabad, Batra Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Tughlakabad Institutional Area, Amrita Hospitals in Faridabad, Fortis Hospital in Shalimar Bagh, Fortis Hospital in Noida, Medanta Hospital in Noida, Human Care Medical Charitable Trust (Manipal Hospital) in Dwarka, Yatharth Super Speciality Hospital in Greater Noida West, and Paras Hospital in Gurugram, among others.
The multi-speciality hospital ist includes Escorts Hart Institute in Okhla, Max Smart Super Speciality at Saket, Action Cancer Hospital in Pashchim Vihar, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital in West Punjabi Bagh, Fortis Hospital (A Unit of Fortis Healthcare Limited) in Gurugram, Sushila Hospital in Narela, Park Hospital (Unit of Aggarwal Hospital and Research Services Pvt. Ltd.) in Faridabad, Indus Valley Hospital in Najafgarh, Kailash Hospital Ltd in Greater Noida, Nidaan Hospital (A unit of Narsingh Hospital & Heart Institute Pvt. Ltd.) in Sonipat, Saroj Super Speciality Hospital in Rohini, Surbhi Hospital in Noida, National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, Delhi, St. Stephen's Hospital, Tis Hazari, Delhi, among others.
With these hospitals coming on board to provide services under CGHS, the beneficiaries will have a wide range of choices to get critical treatment, such as cardiology, oncology, neurology, etc.
The Central Secretariat Service Forum has lauded this empanelment, stating on social media that the step will "enhance accessibility, choice, and quality healthcare services" for the government workforce and their families.
The memorandum emphasises that all empanelled HCOs must adhere to the terms and conditions stipulated in December 2025.
With empanelling more super- and multi-speciality hospitals, CGHS is building a system for beneficiaries to easily access the medical facilities.
