Living alone in a city like Gurgaon comes with its own set of experiences, from adjusting to a new lifestyle to making independent financial decisions. A 21-year-old woman living in Gurgaon recently shared her July spending in an Instagram video titled How much I spent in July as a 21 Year Old Living alone in Gurgaon.
In an Instagram video, Chahat Yadav shared her monthly spending while living in a fully furnished one-room kitchen (1RK) apartment in Gurgaon. She said her total expenses for July stood at Rs 43,096 and asked viewers whether the amount was a matter of concern or a normal cost of living independently.
Rent accounted for the biggest share of her monthly budget. She spent Rs 15,000 on her fully furnished 1RK apartment in Gurgaon.
Apart from rent, she spent Rs 2,000 on electricity and Rs 1,800 on gym and other memberships during the month. The woman also shared that she uses a scooty for commuting. Her fuel expenses and repair costs together came to around Rs 2,142 in July.
Her spending on groceries, food orders and other daily requirements stood at Rs 6,879. She also spent Rs 12,805 on shopping during the month, making it one of the larger components of her overall budget. The remaining amount was spent on outings. She said she spent around Rs 2,470 on going out during July.
The expense breakdown showed that essential costs, such as rent, food and daily requirements formed a major part of her monthly spending, while shopping also contributed significantly to the overall amount.
