How To Apply

Applicants who are interested in joining the lottery can apply online through the official BMC housing website. The information booklet, along with other application details, will also be posted on the website from October 16 at 10 am.

Interested individuals should enter their information carefully and make payments in advance online by the due date. Everything is online, from registration to payment and draw announcements, to ensure transparency and ease for applicants.

Aim Of The Housing Lottery

The BMC's housing lottery is a part of its overall plan to increase the affordability of housing for economically weaker sections in Mumbai. With real estate prices in the city usually out of reach of low-income groups, such a scheme gives residents a chance to own a house within city limits.

In the meantime, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is gearing up to offer luxury apartments worth more than Rs 7 crore in South Mumbai. These flats at Crescent Tower, Tardeo, one of the city's prime areas, will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis before Diwali 2025, as per a report in Hindustan Times.
