Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has revised its fixed deposit (FD) rates, offering a maximum 6.70 per cent to the general public and 7.20 per cent to senior citizens. The rates are effective from today, September 15, 2025. Amid downward movement of interest rates for the last couple of months, FDs don’t remain as attractive as they used to be, but still remain a staple in an average Indian investor’s investment portfolio.
Here’s a look at the revised rates being offered by IOB to retail investors for investment less than Rs 3 crore, according to the bank’s website

The public sector bank offers an additional 0.50 per cent over the card rates to senior citizens (60 years and above), and additional 0.75 per cent to super senior citizens (80 years and above). The interest rates for them would be:

The bank last revised its rates in August 2025. At that time, it offered the highest deposit rate of 6.75 to the general public for 444-day deposit.
