What To Do If Your Digital Life Certificate Is Rejected?

The deadline to submit a life certificate is today, November 30, 2025. If you have submitted your life certificate, but are not sure whether it has been accepted or rejected, today is the last day to check the status and resubmit it for an uninterrupted pension. For this, one does not necessarily need to visit the bank, post office or other concerned authorities; instead, it can be checked online. 

When a pensioner submits a life certificate online, the certificate is generated with a unique Pramaan ID. This ID remains valid generally for a year or until a new certificate is generated. The other details, such as pension payment order (PPO) number, bank details, biometrics, and other personal details, remain the same until the pensioner requests a change in them.  

How To Check Whether Your Life Certificate Has Been Submitted Successfully?

While submitting a life certificate digitally, once the face scan is done and the request is submitted, the certificate is generated within a minute.

Download The Certificate: One can download the life certificate as a record, but in case, one doesn't wish to download it, one can find the submission details in the SMS as well.

SMS: Typically, an SMS is sent to the pensioner within minutes of submitting a digital life certificate. This SMS contains Pramaan ID, which one can use to download the certificate later, and for any other future reference.

When the details are filled properly and there is no mismatch, a certificate is generated. In case the life certificate is rejected, one can resubmit it with the correct details.

What To Do If Your Digital Life Certificate Is Rejected?

When generating a life certificate, pensioners are required to provide their name, mobile number, Aadhaar number, PPO number, bank account number, bank IFSC code, name of pension sanctioning authority, pension disbursing authority, among others. 

Further, their biometric information, either iris or fingerprint, is also required.  If there happens to be a mismatch in these details, the authority can reject the request.

If you receive an SMS about rejection, you need to submit the life certificate again. If SMS is not received and the certificate is also not downloaded, one can check the status, whether the life certificate has been submitted successfully or not, by visiting the official Jeevan Pramaan website of the government.

According to the Jeevan Pramaan FAQs, if one’s Jeevan Pramaan (life certificate) is rejected, one should contact the pension disbursing agency.

“Contact your Pension Disbursing Agency. Jeevan Pramaan is rejected in case wrong particulars are provided by the pensioner while generating the DLC. It is recommended that a new Jeevan Pramaan, i.e. Pramaan-ID, be generated by providing all correct information and biometrics,” the FAQ says.

So, make sure that your life certificate is submitted successfully, download the certificate for your records. In case of rejection, resubmit the certificate and keep the record of successful resubmission to ensure uninterrupted pension.
