Preparing For The First Job And First Paycheque

Students of NCR-based business school AIMT supplement their essential life skills of managing money and careers

Even torrential rain pouring over Greater Noida in the National Capital Region (NCR) could not dampen the spirit of the students at Army Institute of Management & Technology (AIMT) on August 24, 2026. The future young stars of corporate India gathered for the event, co-organised by Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and Outlook Money, at their campus.

The event covered two important topics. First, how the soon-to-be graduating business school students can smartly manage paycheques to build a robust financial infrastructure to support their various dreams. Second, how to build a career in the banking and financial services industry (BFSI), from choosing the first job to charting a sustained high-growth career path.

Starting the proceedings of the event was Lalit Sharma, Zonal Manager-Investor Education & Distributor Development (North) & Digital Initiatives, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund. He presented “My First Paycheque”, a presentation especially designed for students set to pass out of their educational institutions soon. Sharma, an investor education specialist, combined wit, and humour as he lucidly dealt with Personal Finance 101 topics. This included how to be a disciplined spender, saver, and investor, besides the role mutual funds can play in achieving major financial goals.

Various aspects of BFSI careers, such as emerging opportunities and career strategies, such as how to pick the first job, were covered by Udayan Ray, Founder, FundooMoney Media. The end of the event may have coincided with the cessation of the downpour, but students continued to engage the speakers with their queries and exchange thoughts.
