The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has announced this year’s cleanest cities. From major metros to small towns, these rankings showcase the best in urban cleanliness and public involvement.
Indore ranked 1st in the Super Swachh League, followed by Surat, Navi Mumbai and Vijayawada among 10L+ cities, while Noida, Chandigarh, Mysuru, Ujjain and Gandhinagar were top performers in the 3–10 lakh category.
While the Super Swachh League recognises consistent performers, this list highlights the top-ranked cities in 2024–25 with over 10 lakh population — Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Lucknow.
Mira-Bhayandar leads this group, with Bilaspur in second place and Jamshedpur third, due to innovative waste systems, cleanliness drives, and strong public involvement.
Dewas was ranked first in this category, and Karhad and Karnal finish in second and third respectively, all were successful in local waste collection, composting efforts, and awareness campaigns.
Panaji leads the semi-urban category with greenery initiatives. With sustainable waste practices and community work, Aska and Kumhari are also high on the list.
Bilha ranked as the top clean smallest town in India with Chikiti and Shahganj coming in second and third, respectively, proving that size doesn’t limit cleanliness when communities work together.
