Can I prematurely withdraw from my provident fund?

OLM Desk

Yes, you can. However, you cannot withdraw more than 75 per cent of your accumulated provident fund before reaching the retirement age of 58 years. The withdrawal can be made on special occasions and situations like marriage (self or children), children’s education or medical treatment of self, spouse, parents or children. However, it is advisable not to treat the PF savings as a bank account to dip into for money and instead treat it as the primary retirement savings instrument.
