Good luck with your driving and it is good to be aware of what you will need in case you meet with an accident. To raise a motor insurance claim, you will need to submit the copy of the insurance policy, repair estimate from the service centre, copy of vehicle registration certificate, a copy of the driver’s licence, and later the claim bill. Importantly, you need to inform the insurer about the accident who in turn will appoint a surveyor to inspect the claim, and collect these documents from you.

If you get the repair done at an authorised service station, the claim can be processed through the cashless route. The documents are submitted by the service centre to the insurer and you would need to pay only the nonadmissible expenses to the centre. If you get the repairs done at a non-authorised service centre, the required documents need to be submitted to the surveyor. After all the documents are submitted, it takes 30 days for the claim to get settled.
