Bank Holidays From September 7 To 13: Branches To Remain Closed On These Days

Bank Holidays Next Week: Bank customers planning to visit a branch between September 7 and September 13, 2026, should check the holiday schedule applicable to their city. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) calendar, a regional bank holiday will be observed during the week. Branches will also remain closed on the second Saturday and Sunday.

Bank Closures From September 7 To 13

Bank branches within the jurisdiction of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation will remain closed on September 11 due to elections. This bank holiday will not apply across Rajasthan or the rest of the country.

September 12 is the second Saturday of the month. All scheduled and non-scheduled banks across India observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays.

The RBI calendar also lists September 12 as a holiday in Guwahati for the Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva. The occasion commemorates the death anniversary of the Assamese saint-scholar, poet and social reformer.

September 13 falls on a Sunday, when bank branches will remain closed across the country.

Banks Open From September 7 To 10

The RBI calendar does not list any bank holiday between September 7 and September 10. Branches across the country are, therefore, expected to operate normally during these four days.

Customers should, however, verify the working status of their branch before visiting. Bank holidays next week may differ across states and cities, and a closure in one location does not necessarily apply elsewhere.

Services Available On Bank Holidays

Most digital banking services will continue to be available when branches are closed. Customers can use internet banking, mobile banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and automated teller machines (ATMs) for fund transfers, bill payments and cash withdrawals.

National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) services are available round the clock on all days of the year, including bank holidays. However, customers could face temporary interruptions because of maintenance work or restrictions imposed by their banks.

Services requiring a branch visit will remain unavailable in locations observing a holiday. Customers who need to deposit or clear cheques, complete documentation, access lockers or carry out other branch-based work should plan their visit for a working day.

How RBI Lists Bank Holidays

The RBI’s holiday calendar is organised according to regional offices. It primarily identifies holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and days marked for the closing of bank accounts.

Customers should check the city-specific calendar rather than assume that every listed bank holiday applies nationwide.
