SBI Card will be updating its fee structure from November 1, 2025. Cardholders should take a look at these changes, as they could affect different transactions, payments, and services. By staying informed on these improvements, customers can avoid future charges or issues.
SBI Card will levy a 1 per cent fee on education payments made through third-party apps beginning November 1, 2025. However, if the payment is made directly on the school, college, or university’s website, or through a POS machine, no such fee will apply.
Similarly, a 1 per cent fee will be charged on wallet load transactions exceeding Rs 1,000 when using an SBI Card. These revised charges are applicable only to transactions made using SBI Cards and do not affect payments made via other cards, bank accounts or UPI.
SBI Card continues to apply common charges that are already in effect. A cash payment incurs a fee of Rs 250, while payments made via cheque attract a fee of Rs 200. In case a payment is dishonoured, SBI Card charges 2 per cent of the payment amount, subject to a minimum of Rs 500.
SBI Card continues to levy late payment fees based on the outstanding Minimum Amount Due (MAD). No fee applies if the MAD is between Rs 0 and Rs 500. For MAD from Rs 501 to Rs 1,000, the fee is Rs 400. If the MAD is between Rs 1,001 and Rs 10,000, the charge is Rs 750. For amounts from Rs 10,001 to Rs 25,000, the fee is Rs 950. MAD between Rs 25,001 and Rs 50,000 incurs a fee of Rs 1,100, while any amount beyond Rs 50,000 incurs a fee of Rs 1,300.
If the MAD is not paid for two consecutive billing cycles, an extra Rs 100 fee will be imposed for each following cycle until the unpaid balance is cleared.
