The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will close the application window for its Young Professionals (YP) recruitment 2026 on July 6, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the contractual positions by sending their applications through email before the deadline. The recruitment drive is for specialised positions at the RBI’s central office in Mumbai. The vacancies are spread across areas, such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, climate risk, sustainable finance, payment systems, financial markets, data analysis, supervision, and policy research.

Salary And Tenure

Candidates selected for the Young Professionals programme will receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs 1.50 lakh. The appointment will be on a full-time contractual basis. The initial contract will be for three years. It may be extended depending on performance and mutual agreement, but the total engagement will not exceed five years.

The RBI has clarified that Young Professionals will not be treated as regular employees. They will also not receive allowances or employee benefits that are available to permanent staff.

Eligibility And Vacancies

The educational qualification differs according to the role. Depending on the post, applicants should have a postgraduate degree, an engineering qualification, a recognised professional certification, or relevant research experience.

The available positions include Young Professional in policy analytics, climate change risk and sustainable finance, credit risk analytics and regulatory policy, payment ecosystem, policy and research in domestic and cross border payment systems, policy and research, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, data analysis, financial markets, and data analytics and policy research.

All selected candidates will be posted at the RBI’s central office in Mumbai.

Applicants must send a scanned copy of the correct application form along with supporting documents to yphrmdco@rbi.org.in.

The application must include a CV, academic, and qualification certificates, a statement of interest, a sample of academic or policy writing, and a recommendation or reference letter from a professional referee. Those who are applying for multiple posts, will have to submit the forms and required documents separately.

Process Of Selection

The recruitment process will include preliminary screening, shortlisting, document verification, and a personal interview.Interview call letters will be sent only to shortlisted candidates through email.
