Crypto Investors in India Show Increasing Interest in Platform Security

As cryptocurrency use grows in India, investors are assessing security and trust on platforms along with other considerations, when using crypto platforms. A new survey by CoinSwitch, India’s crypto exchange, shows that many users are seeking stronger protections against hacks and other risks.

The survey, which was titled Crypto Safety Pulse: 2025, gathered responses from nearly 3,000 active crypto investors in India. It examined participants experiences with crypto platforms, their concerns, and the measures they believe would improve safety and confidence. The results indicate that security and platform reliability are among the considerations for investors in the Indian crypto ecosystem.

The report states that the survey revealed varied sentiment among crypto investors in India. Out of total surveyed, 60 per cent expressed positive sentiments with their cryptocurrency investments, 20 per cent expressed negative sentiments, and another 20 per cent remained neutral that reflects cautious optimism across the investor base.

Among those with a positive outlook, approx 45.9 per cent cited high returns, and nearly 33 per cent highlighted the long-term potential of cryptocurrencies. Only 8.2 per cent of these investors mentioned platform security as a reason for their confidence while indicating a gap between trust in crypto assets and trust in crypto platforms.

Over 33.9 per cent of respondents who felt unsure or negative cited security risks as their main concern, followed by past negative experiences (25.9 per cent) and limited redressal mechanisms (19.9 per cent). Neutral investors mentioned limited understanding (30.5 per cent), volatility (25.3 per cent), and security concerns (16.4 per cent) as their top reasons for hesitation.

According to the CoinSwitch survey, when respondents were asked what would make them feel safer while investing in crypto, 25.8 per cent prioritized a recovery program in case of hacks, making it the most cited safety feature, while other measures such as independent audits or 24/7 customer support were comparatively less cited.

The report states that these findings show that alongside potential returns, security and trust on platform are factors considered by crypto investors in India.
