In September 2005, I started an SIP of Rs 1,000 per month in IDFC Premier Equity. I want to remain invested for the next three years in this fund. Is it a good idea to stay invested in this fund?
IDFC Premier Equity is a good fund but there are other suitable alternatives available

This is a good fund which has done well over the years to post about 20 per cent returns since launch, which is commendable, considering the fund has witnessed a full market cycle of bull and bear phases. However, in recent years, the performance has been lagging and it may not be a bad idea to stop future SIPs in this schemes. Instead, you could start a fresh SIP in funds like HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities or BNP Paribas Midcap, which are suitable alternatives.
