The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has auctioned 142 properties and land assets through its mega e-auction initiatives. Their schemes have generated a total revenue of Rs 1,321.21 crore. These digits were shared by the authority to PTI, while highlighting the string response that is received from investors, businesses and even institutions during the process.

As per the report, the auction witnessed significant participation from various stakeholders and achieved substantial value realisation through competitive bidding. The outcome reflects strong market interest in the properties that were offered under the auction.

Highest Bid Value Surpasses Reserve Price

The authority revealed that the auction gathered a bid value of Rs 1,321.21 crore. This was against a cumulative reserve price of Rs 480.38 crore for all the properties and assets which were up for auction bidding.

The results indicate that the final bid value was nearly three times the reserve price. The DDA further noted that the auction has gathered over 175 per cent premium over the reserve price. The authority has described the outcome as a result of competitive bidding and robust participation from the prospective buyers.

DDA offered 142 properties as part of the e-auction. This number included various land assets like land parcels, commercial areas, residential units and even institutional plots. In addition to these categories, the auction also featured license fee-based assets in various locations across Delhi-NCR. This diversification of properties allowed for a wider audience to participate in the auction.

Focus on Delhi’s Development

The report cited that Lieutenant Governor G Taranjit Singh Sandhu had been focusing on the development of Delhi as a global city. This vision is based on principles of clean and sustainable investments, with world-class housing and creating opportunities that contribute to the establishment of Delhi as a financial hub. This auction was linked to this developmental objective.

Transparent and Technology-Enabled Process

The auction was also digitally mandated through DDA’s digital platform. The authority stated that the process was transparent and tech-enabled. This made sure that the process was transparent, fair and wasn’t rigged. The digital auction mechanism has facilitated while maintaining transparency throughout the bidding process.

The DDA has time and time again released such auctions and schemes that help in catering to the aspirational homebuyers as well as contributing to the entrepreneurial segment of the city.
