Stock Market News: Sensex Rallies 700 Points, Nifty Above 25,200 As Benchmark Indices Extend Gains 

Share Market News: The benchmark indices mirrored gains in the global market to close higher for the second consecutive day amid signs of de-escalation between Iran and Israel. The Sensex ended the session higher by 700.4 points or 0.85 per cent at 82,755.51. On the other hand the Nifty 50 index also added 200.4 points or 0.8 per cent to close at 25,244.75.

Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim Lead Gainers

Shares of Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim led the gainers among Nifty 50 stocks as they closed higher by up to 3.66 per cent. The index saw 42 advances and 8 declines, Bharat Electronics Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Eicher Motors came out as top-drags among Nifty 50 stocks as they ended lower by as much as 2.92 per cent.

Broader Market Indices Extend Gains On June 25

Both the Nifty MidCap 100 and the Nifty SmallCap 100 extended gains for the fourth consecutive session on June 25. On the other hand, all major sectoral indices finished the session higher. However, the Nifty IT index and the Nifty Consumer Durables gained the most among the sectoral pack, closing higher by 1.64 per cent and 1.43 per cent, respectively. Amid the de-escalation in the Iran-Israel conflict the India VIX also eased and closed 4.98 per cent lower.

Global Markets on June 25

US markets ended higher on June 24 with the DJIA finishing the session at 43,089.02 up by 507.24 points or 1.19 per cent. The Nasdaq composite and the S&P 500 also closed the session higher by up to 1.43 per cent. The Asian markets mirrored the gains amid de-escalating tensions and the expectation of a relatively stable geopolitical landscape the Hang Seng and the Nikkei 225 finished the session higher by 1.22 per cent and 0.39 per cent, respectively. Other key Asian market indices such as South Korea’s KOSPI and China’s Shanghai Composite finished 0.15 per cent and 1.02 per cent higher respectively.

Primary Market Action On June 25

As many as five new public issues opened for subscription on June 25 these include HDB Financial Services IPO, Sambhv Steel Tubes IPO, Rama Telecom IPO, Suntech Infra Solutions IPO and Supertech EV IPO. On the other hand shares of Arisinfra Solutions and Influx Healthtech shares made their debut on D-street.

US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell ruled out the possibility of a rate cut in July. Stock market investors are now closely observing any further developments from Iran and Israel after a ceasefire was announced earlier on June 24.
