Stock Market News: Sensex Slips 148 Points, Nifty Holds 25,500 Amid Weakness In Realty and Metals Stocks

Share Market News: The Sensex and the Nifty 50 finished the session lower on November 6. The Nifty 50 index finished the session at 25,509.7 levels, down by 87.95 points or 0.34 per cent. On the other hand, the Sensex finished at 83,311.01, slipping 148.14 points or 0.18 per cent. The headline indices slipped amid weakness in metal and realty stocks.

Grasim and Hindalco Emerge As Top Drags

Shares of Grasim and Hindalco emerged as the top drags among Nifty 50 constituents. Grasim shares closed at Rs 2,697 apiece, down by 6.42 per cent on the NSE. On the other hand, Hindalco shares ended the session at Rs 786.55 apiece, with a decline of 5.39 per cent. Other major losers among Nifty 50 stocks included Adani Enterprises Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Eternal, which finished lower by as much as 4.5 per cent on the NSE.

Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal Witness Declines

The Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal indices finished the session lower on November 6, down by 2.07 per cent and 1.51 per cent, respectively. In the broader market, the Nifty SmallCap 100 and the Nifty MidCap 100 mirrored the movement of the benchmark Nifty and closed the session lower by 0.95 per cent and 1.39 per cent, respectively.

Global Markets On November 6

Asian indices finished the session in the green on November 6. South Korea's KOSPI index and Japan's Nikkei 225, finished the session with gains of 1.38 per cent and 0.55 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and China's Shanghai Composite indices finished the session with gains of 2.03 per cent and 0.96 per cent, respectively.

Orkla India shares made a muted debut on the exchanges on November 6. The basis of allotment of Lenskart Solutions IPO will be finalised today. On the other hand, the public issues of Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd. IPO (Groww IPO) continued to garner investor interest.

Key events set to affect D-street in the upcoming days of November 2025 include ongoing corporate earnings reports and global market cues. Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) and Domestic Institutional Investor (DII) flows, and the MSCI India index rejig are also expected to affect investor sentiment in the upcoming days of the month.
