Trent, Bharat Electronics To Enter 30-Share Sensex, Know Key Additions To Other BSE Indices

Sensex Rejig Date: Asia Index Pvt Ltd announced the re-constitution of BSE indices via a release on May 22. Asia Index Pvt Ltd said in a release that the changes will come into effect from June 23, 2025. Two stocks are set to be new entrants into the 30-share BSE Sensex on the date of the rejig.

According to the release, shares of Tata group’s retail arm Trent Ltd and defence sector major Bharat Electronics Ltd are set to join the benchmark index. As the two stocks join, they will replace Nestle India Ltd and IndusInd Bank.

The replacements come amid Nestle India and IndusInd Bank underperforming the Sensex. Over the past year, Nestle India shares have slid 2.4 per cent and IndusInd Bank shares have declined over 44.9 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Sensex surged over 10 per cent during the same period. On the other hand, shares of Trent Ltd and Bharat Electronics Ltd have outperformed the Sensex as they have gained 15.63 per cent,  and 33.01 per cent, respectively, over the past year. 

According to Bajaj Broking, the rejig is expected to lead to passive inflows of $278 million (Rs 2,400 crore) for Trent and $275 million (Rs 2,375 crore) for BEL. On the flipside, IndusInd Bank is slated to see outflows of $135 million (Rs 1,155 crore) and Nestle is likely to see outflows of $210 million (Rs 1,800 crore).

Other BSE Rejigs
The BSE 100, BSE Sensex 50, BSE Sensex Next 50 and BSE Bankex will also undergo a rejig on June 23. Here’s a look at some key entries and exits to the indices:

BSE 100
Three stocks will be added to the BSE 100 index. These include Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd, Coforge Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd. Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd, IT sector player Coforge Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd will replace Bharat Forge Ltd, Dabur India Ltd and Siemens India, respectively.

BSE Sensex 50
The BSE Sensex 50 index will see two replacements as Interglobe Aviation Ltd and Shriram Finance Ltd will replace FMCG major Britannia Industries Ltd. and automotive company Hero MotoCorp.

BSE Sensex Next 50
Shares of Britannia Industries Ltd, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd, Coforge Ltd, Hero Motocorp Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd will be added to the index replacing Interglobe Aviation Ltd, NBFC Shriram Finance Ltd, defence sector company Bharat Forge Ltd, FMCG major Dabur India Ltd and Siemens Ltd.

BSE Bankex
The BSE Bankex will see one replacement as IDFC First Bank Ltd will be added to the index replacing Canara Bank.
