BSE Indices Rejig: 50 New Additions In SmallCap, MidCap Indices

Asia Index, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE has announced a rebalancing of several BSE indices, with the changes set to take effect from March 24, 2025. There will be no changes to the BSE Sensex though

Asia Index, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE, announced the reconstitution of several of its BSE indices, across various market capitalisations, on March 7, 2025. The reshuffle is part of a routine review to make sure the indices properly reflect current market conditions and investor sentiment.

The changes will come into effect from March 24, 2025.

A total of 55 new stocks will be added in the BSE AllCap index, while one will be removed. The BSE LargeCap index and the BSE Midcap index will see will see five and six new stocks, respectively, with no removals.

The BSE SmallCap index will see 44 new stocks, with one removal. The BSE LargeMidCap index will see 11 new inclusions, while the BSE MidSmallCap index will have 50 new inclusions, with one removal. The BSE SmallCap Select index will see nine new stocks, with eight being removed. The BSE IPO index will not see any new additions, but three stocks will be excluded.

No Changes in BSE Sensex

As for the BSE Sensex, which tracks the performance of 30 of India’s largest and most-actively traded firms listed on the BSE, there are no changes.

In the last rebalancing in December 2024, Zomato, the food delivery giant, took the place of steel major JSW Steel in the 30-share benchmark index. Meanwhile, stocks like Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC, Infosys, and Sun Pharmaceuticals saw changes in their weights within the index.

BSE Indices Rejig: Who Is In, Who Is Out

The BSE AllCap index will now include Bajaj Housing Finance, Hyundai Motor India, Ola Electric Mobility, Swiggy, NTPC Green, Waaree Energies, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, One Mobikwik Systems, Premier Energies, KRN Heat Exchanger, PN Gadgil Jewellers, and Vishal Mega Mart among others.

However, Coffee Day Enterprises will be removed.

In the BSE LargeCap index, Bajaj Housing Finance, Hyundai Motor India, Waaree Energies, Swiggy, and NTPC Green will join the ranks. For BSE MidCap, new additions include Emcure Pharma, Ola Electric Mobility, Brainbees, Premier Energies, Vishal Mega Mart, and Inventurus Knowledge Solutions.

For the BSE SmallCap index, some major additions include Infibeam Avenues, Ceigall India, Raymond Lifestyle, Baazar Style, P N Gadgil Jewellers, KRN Heat Exchanger, Niva Bupa Health Insurance, One Mobikwik Systems, and Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing. Coffee Day Enterprises will also be removed from this index, along with the BSE MidSmallCap index.
