MV Electrosystems Shares Make Strong Debut, Railway Equipment Maker's Stock Lists With Over 22% Premium

Following its highly anticipated market debut, shares of MV Electrosystems will now trade alongside several established peers in the competitive Indian electrical and railway equipment sector.

Shares of MV Electrosystems made their debut on the NSE and the BSE on August 6 with strong gains. The stock listed at Rs 520 per share on the NSE, up more than 22 per cent from the issue price of Rs 425 apiece. On the BSE, the stock listed with a premium of 22 per cent at Rs 219 apiece.

MV Electrosystems Listing Day Gain

Applicants who were successfully allotted a minimum of one lot or 34 shares of MV Electrosystems would have made a profit of at least Rs 3,230 (Rs 520 - Rs 425 x 34) after the stock listed on the exchanges. The Faridabad-based company’s expected total market capitalisation stands at Rs 1415.97 crore and 1.49 lakh shares of the company have changed hands after the listing of the stock.

MV Electrosystems IPO: Offer Size

The initial public offering (IPO) was worth Rs 290 crore. The railway electrical equipment manufacturer's issue consisted entirely of a fresh issue of 6.82 million shares. The price band was fixed at Rs 400-425 per share.

MV Electrosystems IPO: Subscription

The minimum lot size for retail investors was fixed at 1 lot or 34 shares, which aggregated to an investment of Rs 14,450. MV Electrosystems IPO was oversubscribed 188.85 times in its subscription period from July 30-August 3, 2026. Investors across categories placed bids for over 753 million shares compared to the net offer size of 3.98 million shares (determined by deducting the shares allotted to anchor investors from the total offer size).

The non-institutional investors (NII) quota was booked 374.58 times, while the retail investor category was booked 205.42 times. The issue was booked 90.47 times in the qualified institutional buyer (QIB) category.

MV Electrosystems: Promoters

The promoters of the railway equipment maker include Amit Dhawan, Mohit Vohra, Rahul Dhawan, Ramendra Pratap Singh, Sonali Dhawan, and Sumit Dhawan. Following the listing of the stock their shareholding reduced from 76.92 per cent before the public issue to 57.68 per cent.

MV Electrosystems: Listed Peers

Following its successful market debut, shares of MV Electrosystems will trade alongside peers in the Indian electrical equipment manufacturing sector. The company’s listed competitors include companies such as Hind Rectifiers. MV Electrosystems’ performance and valuation will be closely tracked and compared against other players following the listing of the stock.

MV Electrosystems IPO: Objective

MV Electrosystems will use the funds raised through the IPO to fund its long-term working capital requirements, invest in research design and development activities for new power electronic equipment, and for general corporate purposes.

At the time of writing, shares of MV Electrosystems traded at Rs 537.65 apiece up by 3.27 per cent on the BSE and at Rs 543.50 apiece up by 4.52 per cent on the BSE.
