Trump Media & Technology Group reported a net loss of USD 238.1 million for the second quarter of 2026, compared with a loss of about USD 20 million in the same period last year.
The company, founded by US President Donald Trump and known for its Truth Social platform, said in its financial results that unrealised losses on digital assets, digital assets pledged, and equity securities contributed significantly to the quarterly loss.
The company reported USD 190.4 million in unrealised losses on digital assets, digital assets pledged and equity securities for the quarter ended June 30. The figure accounted for most of the company’s net loss during the quarter.
The broader crypto market also faced pressure during the April-June quarter, as uncertainty around US interest rates, geopolitical tensions and continued outflows from crypto investment products weighed on investor sentiment, Reuters reported.
Unrealised losses refer to a decline in the reported value of an asset that has not necessarily been sold. The company, therefore, records the change in value in its financial results even though the asset has not been sold.
Trump Media reported an Adjusted EBITDA loss of USD 223.5 million during the quarter. Accreted interest stood at USD 11.7 million, while stock-based compensation was USD 8.1 million.
According to the release, the company’s revenue increased to USD 1.7 million from USD 0.9 million in the second quarter of 2025, an 89 per cent rise.
Trump Media reported USD 1.9 billion in financial assets during the quarter. It also used USD 13.7 million in cash for operating activities, including USD 25.6 million in legal expenses, primarily related to legacy litigation.
The company launched its Truth API, a business-to-business data feed, on August 1. It said the product had more than 10 customer agreements at the time of the financial results.
Trump Media is not the only Trump-linked business with exposure to the crypto sector. Trump’s family-linked crypto ventures include World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture co-founded with his sons. Earlier reports said these ventures generated more than USD 1.4 billion for Trump in 2025, with income from crypto businesses surpassing earnings from traditional sources such as real estate and hospitality.
