Reliance Power Share Price Surges Nearly 13 Per Cent - Know Why

Reliance Power Share: Reliance Power share price surged nearly 13 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 43.5 apiece on the NSE. Reliance Power share price increased after the company’s net profit grew in the quarter and fiscal ended March 31, 2025.

Reliance Power Q4 Results

Reliance Power announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year FY 2024-25 on May 9. The company’s consolidated profit-after-tax for the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25 surged nearly 200 per cent to Rs 125.57 crore compared to Rs 41.95 crore in the third quarter of FY 2024-25. The company posted a net loss of Rs 397.56 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal. Reliance Power turned profitable in FY 2024-25 as it posted a net profit of Rs 2,947.83 crore compared to a net loss of Rs 2,068.38 crore in FY 2023-24.

In the March quarter of FY25, Reliance Power’s consolidated revenue from operations declined by nearly 1 per cent to Rs 1978.01 crore compared to Rs 1996.65 crore in the March quarter of FY24. Sequentially, the company’s revenue from operations increased by nearly 7 per cent from Rs 1852.84 crore in the December quarter of FY25. In FY25 the company’s revenue from operations declined by nearly 4 per cent to Rs 7582.89 crore compared to Rs 7892.6 crore in FY24.

On May 12, Reliance Power informed the exchanges that its subsidiary Reliance NU Energies Private Ltd (Reliance NU Energies) won the largest allocation in SJVN’s tariff-based competitive bidding process. The subsidiary secured an allocation of 350 MW of solar generation capacity coupled with 175 MW/700 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS). The company mentioned in the release that once the project is commissioned, the platform will add 600 MWp of installed solar PV capacity and 700 MWh of energy storage.

Shares of Reliance Power have gained over 76 per cent on the NSE in a year. On a year-to-date basis the stock has surged over 1 per cent and in six months shares of the company have gained over 16 per cent. In a month Reliance Power’s shares have surged nearly 8 per cent and in five days the stock has traded northward by nearly 7 per cent.

At the time of writing shares of Reliance Power traded at Rs 43.5 apiece on the NSE up by 12.55 per cent.
