Sensex Closes Over 400 Points Higher, Nifty At 24,750 As Headline Indices Extend Gains

Stock Market News: Eternal, Trent and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories closed higher by up to 4.53 per cent and emerged as top-gainers among Nifty 50 stocks

Sensex, Nifty Today: The benchmark indices extended gains for the second straight session as the Sensex and the Nifty finished in the green. The 30-share Sensex ended 81,442.04 level up by 443.79 points or 0.55 per cent. The Nifty 50 closed at 24,750.9 up by 130.7 points or 0.53 per cent.

Eternal, Trent And Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Emerge As Top Gainers

Eternal, Trent and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories closed higher by up to 4.53 per cent and emerged as top-gainers among Nifty 50 stocks. IndusInd Bank, Tata Consumer Products Ltd, and Axis Bank shares closed lower by as much as 1.39 per cent. 

Nifty Pharma and Nifty Realty Gain the Most

The Nifty Pharma index and the Nifty Realty index ended higher by 1.75 per cent and 1.28 per cent respectively on June 5. Even amid broadbased buying, the Nifty Auto index declined 0.11 per cent bucking the trend. The broader market indices gained for the third straight day with the Nifty SmallCap 100 closing higher by 0.65 per cent at 58,303 levels and Nifty MidCap 100 closing higher by 0.96 per cent at 18,432.6 levels.

Global Markets on June 6

Key Wall Street indices closed in the green on June 5, with the Dow Jones Futures and the Nasdaq Composite finishing higher by as much as 0.32 per cent. Conversely, the S&P Futures ended flat up by 0.1 per cent. European markets also traded in the green at the time of writing as the CAC 40, DAX Performance Index and the FTSE 100 gained up to 0.41 per cent at the time of writing. Key Asian indices like the Tokyo-based Nikkei 225 are traded lower by 0.51 per cent. Conversely, the Hong Kong-based Hang Seng traded higher at 252.94 points or 1.06 per cent. The Shanghai Composite traded higher by 0.23 per cent at 3,384.1 levels.

HDB Financial IPO

HDB Financial Services has received Sebi’s green light for an initial public offer. Notably, the issue is the biggest public issue in the NBFC space and the biggest fundraise since Hyundai Motor India’s public issue last October.

Market Cues

The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) monetary policy committee’s (MPC’s) will announce its decision and stance regarding further repo rate cuts on June 6. The central bank is expected to announce the a rate cut of 25 basis points (bps) to 50 bps as per street’s estimates.
