8th Pay Commission Extended Deadline For Memorandum Submission To May 31

The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) extended the deadline for representation or memorandum submissions to May 31, 2026. Earlier, the last date for submission was April 30, 2026. The extension has provided a significant relief to millions of government employees and pensioners. The one-month extension will provide stakeholders more time to submit their response to the Commission.

While the employees’ association has been asking for an extension of the deadline, the extension has been declared only a day before the last date. “Last date for submission of responses is 31st May, 2026 (Sunday).  All submissions are to be made only through the link specified above. Paper-based memoranda/hard copies/pdf/emails of the memorandum are not being considered/ entertained by the Commission,” reads the 8th CPC official website.

Separately, the Pay Commission is engaged in discussions with various employee unions and associations in Delhi from April 28-30. Yesterday, it held a meeting with the National Council Joint Consultative Machinery (NCJCM) (Staff Side) to understand their demands and proposed suggestions, and following this, today extended the deadline.

Notably, the 8th CPC is accepting responses only through online mode, but as the date approached, the online portal started facing glitches due to heavy traffic.

Even though the date has been extended by one month, the message made it clear that only online submission will be taken into account, and no other mode of correspondence will be considered for discussions.

In addition to this, it maintained the strict stance on the format of submission. In the message on its website, it mentioned that all responses must be submitted via the specified online link and in a structured format.

Note that the stakeholders, including industrial and non-industrial central government employees, personnel in the Defence Forces, and members of the All India Services, officers of the Supreme Court, High Courts in Union Territories, Judicial officers of the subordinate courts in the Union Territories, Service Associations/Unions, Central Government Ministries/Departments/ Organisations/Union Territories, Employees of Ministries and Department, Members of Regulatory Bodies, Employee Associations or Unions, Pensioners and Pensioners’ Associations can submit their Representation or Memorandum or Suggestions to the 8th CPC by May 31, 2026.
