As part of several welfare schemes run by the government, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one that provides assistance to farmers across the country. This scheme helps farmers with extended financial assistance.
Under this scheme, farmers receive financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually. This amount is released in three fair installments throughout the year. Farmers receive an amount of Rs 2,000 every four months. So far, 21 installments have been released to the farmers, while they await the 22nd one in 2026.
Currently, no official date has been announced by the Centre confirming this anticipation. As per a report by Mint, it is suggested that the 22nd installment will be released in February.
Beneficiaries have high hopes that this year the government might increase this amount, recognizing the rising agricultural costs. Farmers are expecting a raise in this assistance, hoping to receive benefits from the budget.
This is just a speculation made by the beneficiaries, as there is no official announcement by the government on this.
In order to benefit from this scheme, one must register diligently. It is crucial for farmers to complete the e-KYC; otherwise, the installments can be delayed.
Here is how you can register yourself:
Visit the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi website and navigate to the KYC section.
Enter your Aadhar number and registered mobile number.
Submit after verification with OTP.
If one does not receive the amount, they can reach out to the helpline number. These channels are operational 24X7 to provide assistance.
As per NDTV India, the major change that will determine the disbursal of the installment is the creation of a unique Farmer ID. The government has made it clear that e-KYC alone will not suffice for eligibility. Farmers who have not generated their unique ID may have their next installment held. This ID is considered the digital identity of the farmer. It contains all the vital information related to the farmer, like the land information, crops grown, agricultural data, and livestock details.
The only clause to the scheme is that neither the husband nor the wife can benefit from it at the same time. If anyone is found doing so, the government will declare those beneficiaries fraudulent, and the money will be recovered from them.
This installment is expected to come before the Budget 2026, with many hopes attached to it. Announcements from the centre are yet to come regarding this.
