The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is set to conduct another major housing lottery on February 10, 2026. This time around, they are offering 4,186 residential units across multiple cities in Maharashtra. Organised by the Pune Housing and Area Development Board, the lottery has already gathered massive interest. This reflects the growing demand for housing in the region.
The draw will be conducted through a computerised system to ensure that transparency is maintained in all fairness. The event is scheduled at noon at the Sharadchandra Pawar Auditorium of the Pune Zilla Parishad. This will be overseen by the Pune Board chairman Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, this upcoming lottery has witnessed an exceptional response from the masses in Pune. The data shared in the report states that a total of 2,58,832 applications have been received so far for this lottery scheme. Out of this number, 2,15,965 applicants have also paid the earnest money deposit to be declared eligible for the digital draw. This overwhelming response shows the increasing need for affordable housing and the public's reliance on government-backed schemes for a safe homebuying process. This lottery is a chance to secure housing in a very dense housing market for several middle and lower-income families.
The assigned 4,186 housing units are spread across a wide geographical area, which makes the scheme relevant for buyers from multiple districts. The homes are located in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Solapur district, Kolhapur district, and Sangli district.
This distribution aims to serve the housing demand not only in Pune’s core urban area but also extends to the upcoming developed projects in the peripheral areas.
One of the major highlights of the scheme is its specific emphasis on inclusivity and social housing. Of the total 4,186 units, 3,322 homes fall under the 20 per cent Inclusive Housing Scheme. Meanwhile, the remaining 864 homes fall under the 15 per cent Social Housing Scheme.
These schemes are designed to ensure that people from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low-Income Groups (LIG), and other categories get an equal representation. By locking a specified portion of the total housing stock, MHADA is once again making homeownership accessible.
This lottery on February 10, 2026, will select the applicants who are going to be allotted these homes through a computerised system. The selected applicants will get to move to the next stages of documentation, payment schedules, and possession timelines, which will be determined by the MHADA’s guidelines.
This lottery is becoming one of the most significant schemes in the state this year. With over two lakh eligible applicants, this overwhelming response showcases the urgent demand for affordable housing in Maharashtra.
