Uttarakhand Social Security Pension: Rs 147 Crore Released For Over 9.91 Lakh Beneficiaries, Check Details

The Uttarakhand government on September 4, 2026, released Rs 147.05 crore for disbursement towards social security pension. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the funds using a one-click direct payment mechanism at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The funds were transferred directly into the bank accounts of 991,914 eligible beneficiaries across the state.

The release of funds for social security pensions is for August 2026. The welfare schemes for which the funds have been released include old age pension, widow pension, pension for persons with disabilities, farmers, deserted women, Teelu Rauteli, dwarf pension, and those receiving maintenance allowances.

Beneficiaries And Funding

According to an ANI report, a total of 991,914 beneficiaries received payments, and the majority of them (777,203 beneficiaries) are supported directly by the state-level programs, while the remaining (214,711 beneficiaries) are registered under the Centre’s National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).

In terms of the total disbursed funds, the August allocation includes Rs 140.11 crore from the state’s share, whereas the central government contributed Rs 6.94 crore.

New Beneficiaries

The state has included 5,605 new beneficiaries in August alone, including 3,945 new beneficiaries under the old-age pension scheme, 1,000 new beneficiaries under the widow pension scheme, 416 beneficiaries under the disability pension scheme, 115 new beneficiaries under the maintenance allowance scheme, 106 new beneficiaries under the farmer pension scheme, and 23 new beneficiaries under the deserted women pension scheme.

Dhami said the core aim of the government is to ensure that every eligible person receives the benefits in a simple, timely, and transparent manner.

Administrative Hurdles

As the funds have already been transferred to beneficiaries, such beneficiaries can check the pension in their bank account. Banks send SMS to accountholders for any transaction in their account. So, beneficiaries can look for the SMS. They can also visit the bank branch or check the pension through the bank’s mobile app or net banking.

Dhami also directed state officials to address any implementation challenge in these welfare pension schemes with sensitivity. Addressing the administrative roadblocks, especially regarding identity verification, he instructed officials to identify eligible individuals who are unable to get their identity card for any reason and resolve the issue. The government has directly transferred funds to beneficiaries’ accounts to minimise such administrative issues that may delay payment or deprive a rightful person from receiving the benefits.
