Talent and Experience crucial to success

“A big thing that has changed in the past decade is how people are consuming movies and where they are watching it across screen,” says Amrita Pandey, Vice President, Studios- Disney India. Being in her mid-30s, she feels that both talent and experience are equally important. “When one is young, one is less closed in their thinking and that gives you a certain edge. However, as you gain experience, you also learn from your mistakes and you are more confident about taking risks. Both talent and experience are important, but I would say talent is more important, as only with experience, you can’t achieve much,” she says.

She has interesting insights on money matters. Says she,”Money is important of course but thinking about money isn’t too productive. It’s best to focus on adding value to what you’re doing and the rest does fall into place. I think money is an enabler to help you discover new places and travel.”

She handles her own finances. However, she takes advice from her parents from time to time. She considers the experiences she has gained from her travels and the time she spent with her family and friends as her most valuable possession.

She says that if there is one life lesson she would like to impart on the young that would be to stay humble. It is important to project yourself at what you do but at the same time I think it is way more important to stay humble,” she says.
