This year, we at Outlook Money changed the annual awards assessment and categories. The new categories that got introduced were Financial Intermediaries (Institutional, Independent and Investment Adviser), Pension Fund Manager and Non-Life Insurer. A detailed questionnaire was prepared for each of the awards category which included quantitative and objective fields for a meaningful and robust evaluation.

The objective of the awards criteria centred on consumers. Every award category identified the best in the domain, with the emphasis on being oriented towards consumer wellbeing. Adequate weights were given to consumer-centric processes and systems to ensure that all applicants get a fair chance irrespective of factors like their size, outreach and transaction volumes. Aided by the guidance from the jury, the parameters were encapsulated across five broad categories and appropriate weights were assigned (See: Evaluation criteria).

Next, applications were solicited from prospective applicants under each category in the form of structured questionnaires. The applications were online and included relevant declaration(s) that were to be submitted by the applicants. After receiving all the nominations within the defined timelines, CARE Ratings, our knowledge partner for the Outlook Money Awards 2015, conducted an objective, quantitative, exhaustive and independent evaluation as per the criteria approved by the jury. Suitable data validation was also carried out on sampling basis, as a part of the process and additional information/clarification was also solicited wherever required.

The final winners across all categories were selected by the jury after the thorough analysis of the evaluation of all applicants and subsequent to the extensive deliberations while taking stock of finer parameters as well which may have not received adequate weight in the overall assessment.
