Bitcoin BTC was the most trending cryptocurrency. It was down by 1.72 per cent to $86,348.15. Its 24-hour trading volume was $52.12 billion. Story IP was the top gainer. It was up by 9.34 per cent. DeFi was up by 0.76 per cent to $7.15 billion, Coinmarketcap.com reported.

Sathvik Vishwanath, Co-Founder & CEO, Unocoin said, "Bitcoin (BTC) dropped to $82,220 on March 9, down 15% from its $95,000 peak, as inflation fears and rising unemployment overshadowed Trump’s Bitcoin strategic reserve announcement. Retail traders are offloading risk assets amid tariff-induced inflation, while miners accumulated $900M in BTC over 14 days, signaling long-term confidence despite short-term bearish sentiment. Institutional investors remain cautious after a White House summit failed to clarify Bitcoin’s role in financial markets. Rising bond yields in Japan and Germany, triggered by Trump’s tariffs, further weigh on BTC’s outlook, though miner accumulation is helping to prevent excess supply from entering the market."
