Gem Aromatics IPO GMP: Gem Aromatics IPO (Gem Aromatics & Lifestyle Ltd) opened for bidding on August 19 and was fully booked on the first day of bidding. The public issue is seeing sustained investor interest on the second day of bidding as well. The grey market premium for Gem Aromatics shares is ranging between Rs 26 and Rs 36 according to websites which track the activity of unlisted shares. Given the GMP of Rs 36, the stock is likely to make a strong debut with a premium of over 11 per cent at Rs 361 per share.

Gem Aromatics Subscription On Day 2

The specialty chemical maker's issue has been booked 1.61 times across categories at the time of writing the story on the second day of subscription. The mainboard issue has received bids for over 15.74 shares so far, compared to the 9.78 million shares offered for subscription.

The mainboard issue has been booked 1.84 times in the retail individual investors category so far. Retail investors applied for over 9.1 million shares compared to the 4.95 million shares reserved for the category.

Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) applied for over 3.4 million shares against the 2.12 million shares set aside for them. The mainboard issue was booked 1.62 times in the NII category. Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) placed bids for more than 3.1 million shares on the second day of bidding against the 2.7 million shares set aside for the category and booked the issue 1.17 times.

Gem Aromatics IPO is worth Rs 451.25 crore. It comprises a fresh issuance of 5.4 million shares, worth Rs 175 crore. The issue also has an offer-for-sale component of 8.5 million shares, worth Rs 276.25 crore. The price band for the Gem Aromatics IPO was fixed at Rs 309 to Rs 325 per share.

Gem Aromatics' total income for FY25 stood at Rs 505.64 crore, increasing by over 11 per cent from Rs 454.23 in FY24. The company posted a net profit of Rs 53.38 crore in FY25 compared to a net profit of Rs 50.1 crore in FY24 indicating an increase of 6.54 per cent year-on-year.

Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors Ltd is the book-running lead manager for the speciality chemical maker's issue, and Kfin Technologies Ltd has been appointed as the registrar for the issue.

Gem Aromatics: Promoters

Gem Aromatics Ltd's promoters include Vipul Parekh, Kaksha Vipul Parekh, Yash Vipul Parekh, and Parekh Family Trust. Promoters of the specialty chemicals maker held 75 per cent stake in the company prior to the issue and their shareholding will reduce to 55.06 per cent post the issue.

Gem Aromatics IPO: Objective

The speciality chemicals maker plans to use the funds raised via the public issue for prepayment or repayment of a portion of its outstanding borrowings. Gem Aromatics also disclosed in the RHP that the funds will also be used for general corporate purposes.
