Stock Market Today: The headline indices are expected to start trade amid mixed global cues. Additionally key commodity prices and other factors are expected to affect trade on July 3. In the early hours of July 3 the Gift Nifty traded 0.14 per cent higher around the 25,566 level, indicating a positive start for the benchmark Nifty index. Earlier on July 2, the Nifty 50 index finished the session 88 points or 0.35 per cent lower at 25,453. On the other hand the 30-share Sensex ended the session lower by 288 points or 0.34 per cent and closed at 83,410.

The July 9 tariff deadline is also fast approaching on the other hand a report by the Financial Times claimed that India is likely to finalise an interim trade deal with the US this week. If the deal goes through D-street is expected to factor in the impact of the trade deal in the upcoming days of the week.

Crude Oil Price On July 3

Crude oil prices traded lower in the early hours of July 3. The West Texas Intermediate Crude traded at $66.9 per barrel down by $0.55 or 0.82 per cent. On the other hand the price of Brent Crude was around $68.55 per barrel down by $0.56 or 0.81 per cent.

Gold Rate Today

On July 3 the price of 1 gram of 24 karat purity gold was Rs 9,890. Notably gold prices have edged higher and are close to the Rs 1 lakh per ten gram mark. On the other hand the prices of one gram of 22 karat purity gold and 18 karat purity gold were Rs 9,066 and Rs 7,418 respectively according to the goodreturns website.

Nykaa Share Price

Nykaa shares are likely to be in focus today as Harindarpal Singh Banga and Indra Banga, are likely to pare their stake in the company by selling shares worth as much as Rs 1,200 crore through a block deal, according to reports.

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) Share Price

Indian Overseas Bank share price is likely to be in focus today after the company informed the exchanges that its shareholders have approved a fundraise worth Rs 4,000 crore. The fundraise is expected to be made through either a Qualified Institutional Placements (QIP), rights issue or employee stock schemes.

Hindustan Zinc Share Price

Hindustan Zinc shares are likely to be in focus on July 3 as the company’s mined metal production reached an all-time high of 265 kilo tonnes in the first quarter of FY 2025-26.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL)

Shares of RVNL are likely to be in focus on July 3 after the company informed the exchanges that it has appointed Chandan Kumar Verma as its new Chief Financial Officer.

US Markets On July 2

Wall Street indices finished Wednesday’s session on a mixed note with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing lower by 10.52 points or 0.02 per cent. On the other hand the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 closed the session with gains of 0.94 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.

Asian Markets Trade Mixed

In the early hours of July 3, the Shanghai Composite, Nikkei 225 and the KOSPI traded in the green with marginal gains of 0.02 per cent, 0.11 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively. On the other hand other Asian indices such as the Hang Seng witnessed a decline of 0.95 per cent.
